What Alejo Says

The Problem With What Alejo Says

Rob’s Solution

  • Job Creation and Preservation.
Get local families working again and supporting local businesses during these difficult financial times.

·         Alejo is not saying how he would do these things.

·         Sounds goods but is only stating what the problem is.

  • Decrease job-killing regulations at all levels.
  • Decrease taxes and fees that make California less competitive than other states.

  • Balancing our budget and changing the 2/3 budget requirement. Avoid the gridlock that occurs every summer in trying to approve a balanced state budget and getting it passed on time.

·         What Alejo is saying is give the liberal Democrats free reign to raise taxes.

·         Cut government waste and programs that cause dependence on government programs.

·         Reform public pensions.

·         Give local governments more control and decrease costly mandates from Sacramento.

  • Neighborhood Safety, including supporting suppression, prevention and intervention. Keep our neighborhoods safe, support local law enforcement in reducing crime and focus on prevention and intervention programs to keep youth on the right track.

·         Alejo is not saying how he would do these things.

·         Who does not want to support local law enforcement?  He is stating the obvious emotion, but not the solution.

·         Comprehensive reform of the judicial system.

·         Reduce over-reaching costly rights and administration of prisoners and decrease prisoners abilities to manage crime from inside.

·         Reform public safety pensions

·         Use savings to increase number of law enforcement officers and early, in-school education.

  • Education is a Top Priority! Provide a high quality education to our students, reduce the high school dropout rates, and ensure that a college education is affordable for our future leaders.

·         Alejo is not saying how he would do these things.

·         Legislation needs to be enacted that allows poorly performing teachers and administrators from public schools.

·         The UC and State School system needs to be released from the state and its mandates.

  • Healthcare reform. Provide greater access to quality healthcare for local families, workers and our children.

·         Alejo is not saying how he would do these things.

·         Healthcare reform is being dealt with at the federal level, by and large.  The federal mandates are extremely expensive and should be handled at the consumer level.

·         Growing the economy and creating jobs will give more people access to healthcare.

·         Hospitals and clinics need to be freed of expensive union rules that have been made law by Sacramento and decrease available resources.

  • Water solutions. Work on short and long terms strategies for ensuring an affordable and sustainable water supply for local residents, businesses and farms for a strong economy and healthy environment.

·         What specifically does Alejo suggest we work on?

·         Alejo is simply stating the need, but not the solution.

·         Give humans the highest priority and stop starving our economic engines by over reacting to issues that can be mitigated by reasonableness.

·         Incentivize the private sector to seek water-saving solutions.

Alejo’s closing statement:

With your support, I will be able to tackle these issues from day one as I am the only candidate that has previously worked as a legislative staffer in the State Assembly in Sacramento. Hard work and experience matters to be able to effectively represent our assembly district during these very challenging times.

·         Being a legislative staffer is not relevant to fixing the problems California faces.

·         Alejo has no private sector experience and cannot relate to those that invest and create jobs and the issues they face in California.

·         His voting record proves he does the exact opposite of what the private sector would do to save California.

·         I have a very successful career as a chief financial officer and as a job creator.

·         As a former school board member, I was instrumental in turning around a troubled school to now being a California Distinguished School.
