From the Letters to the Editor in the Gilroy Dispatch:
County Farm Bureau recommends Rob Bernosky for state Assembly
Dear Editor,
When we look around and see the current status of our state Legislature, a few things stand out: the state budget was 100 days late, jobs are leaving the state in record numbers, decreased resources are available for education, and fierce partisanship is allowed to get in the way of real reform. If you want to see some positive changes in Sacramento, look no further than Rob Bernosky. The choice for California's 28th Assembly District couldn't be more straightforward. It's a matter of identifying our needs and finding individuals who can address them.
Our education system is struggling. As a member of the North County Joint Union School District in San Benito County, Rob Bernosky sparked tremendous improvement in academic performance, taking the district's state rating from 2 out of 10 to a stellar 10 out of 10.
Our state Legislature is ineffectively struggling to create new private sector jobs. Entrepreneur Rob Bernosky has worked in private industry all his life and he realizes the importance of private investment, fewer onerous regulations and a reduced tax burden. He will work to protect water for California's crops and private property rights to keep our family farms in business.
Legislative spending is out of whack. As a chief financial officer, Bernosky has an excellent grasp on what it means to be able to pay bills, make payroll and operate using a balanced budget.
Our state government is broken. Bernosky specializes in transitioning distressed companies and restoring them to profitability and success.
Rob Bernosky is uniquely prepared for this crisis. He is ready on day one to handle the challenges and get this state moving in the right direction. Rob Bernosky for 28th Assembly District.
Jan Garrod, president, Santa Clara County Farm Bureau and Jennifer Williams, executive director SC County Farm Bureau
This "tempest in a teapot" is characteristic of what happens when you have candidates that are puppets of well-funded front groups. What we need for Assembly District 28 are real people who have the qualifications and ability to represent our district. If you want someone real, instead of either a supporter of Aztlan Del Norte or a worn-out water carrier for the Grower Shipper Association, maybe you should get to know Robert Bernosky. It's time to vote for people, rather than puppets. 5/27/2010 7:04:15 AM
Bernosky is best choice for Assembly (Freelance News May 26, 2010)
Dear Editor,
Rob Bernosky is the candidate for the 28th Assembly District who has practiced what he is preaching.
Over the past 20 years he has been instrumental in creating jobs for small and mid-size companies with which he has been associated while also helping those firms grow and prosper.
With regard to correcting the fiscal mess in our state government, Rob as a Chief Financial Officer knows the value of a balanced budget in making the state financially sound which in turn will return California to being a great place to live and work. His plan to help balance the budget is to do the same as we do with our family spending, ie., prioritize the efficient use of our tax dollars by subjecting every item to cost/benefit analysis with the result of not having to raise taxes and hopefully to reduce them.
Rob, who is President of his mutual water company knows what it takes to assure a continuous supply of water to those who need it. Therefore, he supports the movement to maintain a sustainable supply of water to agriculture in San Benito and Santa Clara Counties by returning control of the Central Valley system to the State from the Federal government.
Also, Rob as a member of his school board was a leader in bringing teachers and administrators together to attain the goal of raising the educational status of Spring Grove School from a State rating of 2 to 10. He will take this expertise to Sacramento to help resurrect our failing education system.
I believe that a visit to the Bernosky website www.votebernosky2010.com will convince one that Rob, a strong family man, is the best candidate in the 28th District to get the job done in Sacramento.

From the Salinas Californian:
IN A CONTEST THAT IS LARGELY BEING OVERLOOKED, THERE ARE MANY CHOICES
After attending the EXCELLENT Hartnell College Forum which featured all 6 candidates, I may for the first time vote for a Republican who is a very impressive moderate: Mr. Robert Bernosky.
From the Monterey Herald:
Both Ms. Barnes and Mr. Alejo ARE NOT the best candidates to represent us. After attending the Hartnell College Forum, of all the candidates, it was clear to me that this will be the first time I vote as a Republican, and the candidate will be Mr. Bernosky (a common sense moderate). Mr. Alejo appears to be a chicano activist and Ms. Barnes has been a mediocre member of the Salinas City Council.
****
I feel the same, I will vote for Mr. Bernosky or the other guy from Gilroy, Need to find more information on these two

Robert,
Thank you for your articulate response. Like a lot of Americans who have stood back and left politics alone, I'm in the ground swell that is now paying close and scrutinizing attention to every candidate / proposition that I appear on my ballot. I don't like what has happened to the country and hold the belief that what is happening to California is a precursor to what will happen nationally. The movement toward socialism is an outrage and an insult to folks like me who spent years fighting the cold war.
We know now that anthropological global warming is a hoax and to continue with what amounts to another tax on an already burdened taxpayer, is a travesty.
I appreciate your position on this bill and hope that when you get into the assembly, you will lead the charge to get rid of this bill any way you can. I have visited your website and agree with you on many of the issues. Creating a better business environment, with lower taxes can only serve to keep business here and encourage others to return.
You have my vote.

I am of a similar persuasion as you and am against the bill AB 1934. Good luck in your race and you have my support and more importantly my vote.
